NBA Weekly

Big day for comebacks yesterday as Dirk Nowitzki, Gilbert Arenas, Pau Gasol, and Elton Brand all come back from injuries to play last night.

This is definitely good news for the Mavericks because they need all the help they can get to make the playoffs. They did get a big win over Golden State last night though.

Also last night, the Atlanta Hawks beat Toronto in OT despite a controversial call at the end of regulation. The Hawks have now won 5 straight and it looks like they will be the 8th seed in the playoffs where they can get pounded by the Celtics. However, along with the 76ers, the Hawks are a good young team who should help the East have some more competitive teams in the years to come. One or two quality free agent signings for these two teams and they will definitely be players in the East.

Speaking of the Celtics, they won their 60th game last night and now have tied the record for biggest turnaround from one season to the next, winning 36 more games then last season. They should smash the record by the end of the season. I say they push it to about 42 games.

The Celtics turnaround is mostly do to Kevin Garnett and there are some interesting defensive statistics as to why KG should be the MVP this season.

Apparently Richard Jefferson is glad to seeJason Kidd gone because he caused the Nets locker room to be poisonous at the end of his tenure with the Nets.
