Rising Down - The Roots

The Roots new album Rising Down drops today and I have been able to listen to it a few times in the past week.

At first listen, I was not impressed with the album but I have not been overally impressed with the last couple Roots album all together. After listening to it more, it is starting to grow on me and I feel like this album is pretty solid. I am a big fan of Do You Want More?, illadelph halflife, and Things Fall Apart and have had the fortune of seeing The Roots live in concert and they are definitely incredible. This album is still nowhere near the level of those albums but still solid in it's own right.

Black Thought always comes correct with the lyrics and he absolutely tears some of these tracks up. At first, musically I thought this album was lacking and came across boring but after listening to it more it is definitely solid. Overall, I would suggest copping this album, even though I could have done without the Peedi Crack verse.
