Hip 2 Da Game's Top 5 Players of the NBA Summer League:

Anthony Morrow: Morrow shot the ball at an insane clip in all 3 summer leagues playing for both Miami and Golden State. From three point land, he hit 55.0, 85.7%, and 68.8% of his three pointers, which is pretty much unheard of even for summer league play. I can't imagine how this guy couldn't make an NBA roster at least as a 3-Point specialist.

Orlando: 11.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 52.6% FG, 55.0% 3FG
Las Vegas: 14.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 70.8% FG, 85.7% 3FG
Utah: 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks, 49.3% FG, 68.8% 3FG

Jerryd Bayless: Bayless was probably the most impressive player in the whole summer league as he dominated play in Las Vegas by scoring at will and getting to the free throw line whenever he wanted. He should be a great addition to a young and upcoming Portland team.

Las Vegas: 27.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 45.2% FG

Marreese Speights: Speights to me was one of the biggest surprises of the summer because all we heard about him was his lack of desire. I assumed he was one of the players that Billy Donovan was questioning back at Florida. Well, either Speights was motivated to play in the NBA or the rumors about his lack of desire and conditioning were false because Speights definitely impressed in Las Vegas. The 76ers could have a potential steal on their hands with the 16th pick of the draft.

Las Vegas: 18.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 48.6% FG

Kevin Love: I was impressed with Kevin Love's play after having my doubts about how good he would be in the NBA. Things seemed to come to him at ease during the summer and I'm interested to see just how effective he will be playing next to Big Al Jefferson every night.

Las Vegas: 18.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 48.2% FG

O.J. Mayo: I picked O.J Mayo for the last spot on my team because I felt like he has the best chance to put up similar numbers during the regular season. I feel like Mayo is someone who plays the same no matter what the competition is, meaning he's going to average 18-25 points a night no matter if it's a summer league game or a regular season game. I was also impressed with his 3-point shooting clip of 48.0%. Plus, there was this dunk over Hilton Armstrong that does not need to be explained.

Las Vegas: 18.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 40.7% FG, 48.0% 3FG

Hip 2 Da Game's Top 5 Underrated Players of the NBA Summer League:

Charles Rhodes, DAL: 10.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 64.5% FG
Joe Crawford, LAL: 11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 44.6% FG, 45.5% 3FG
Alando Tucker, PHX: 22.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 56.9% FG
Jason Thompson, SAC: 16.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 49.0% FG

Other NBA news:

- The 76ers re-signed guard Louis Williams. Williams is still only 21 years old and the 76ers were wise to re-sign him because he showed flashes at time last season of being able to score points in bunches.

- The New Orleans Hornets are not expected to re-sign guard Jannero Pargo and he might end up signing with the San Antonio Spurs. Pargo has also drawn interest from Denver and Miami.

- The Cavs are interested in signing J.R. Smith away from the Denver Nuggets. Denver can match any offer that Smith gets but they also are trying to save money and cut payroll.

- Highlights of the 2008-2009 NBA Schedule, which includes a Boston Celtics-LA Lakers Christmas day game.

- Former NBA superstar Shawn Kemp will be playing in Italy next season.
