Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 3

Day 3 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is underway, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action so far:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: New Orleans Hornets 77 Charlotte Bobcats 75

Notables:

D.J. Augustin, CHA: 15 points, 5-9 FG, 1-3 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 turnovers
Othello Hunter, CHA: 6 points, 3-4 FG, 1 rebound
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 2 points, 1-5 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 3 turnovers
Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 11 points, 3-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks

Julian Wright, NO: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks, 6 turnovers
Bobby Brown, NO: 20 points, 6-14 FG, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal

Comments: Julian Wright did a little bit of everything today to show off his array of skills. He still turned the ball over way too much but I'm wondering if maybe he is having to do too much ball handling and creating because of the lack of talent around him here at the summer league. A solid but not spectacular performance from D.J. Augustin. I still think Othello Hunter would be a great bench player for somebody because he seems to be so efficient scoring the basketbal I'm not sure if the rest of his game is well rounded enough for him to be more than a bench player though.

Game 2 Boxscore: Golden State Warriors 95 Dallas Mavericks 86

Notables:

Richard Hendrix, GS: DNP
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 4 points, 1-2 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
Anthony Randolph, GS: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Brandan Wright, GS: 15 points, 7-10 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Marco Belinelli, GS: 25 points, 9-19 FG, 2-8 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal

Shan Foster, DAL: 2 points, 0-1 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 turnovers
Gerald Green, DAL: 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 7 fouls, 3 turnovers
Derrick Low, DAL: 3 points, 1-2 FG, 1 assist, 1 rebound, 2 turnovers
Charles Rhodes, DAL: 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Reggie Williams, DAL: DNP

Comments: Anthony Randolph didn't have a monster performance like he did in his first game but still was solid. Brandon Wright is shooting 12 for 17 so far in the summer league, so I'm interested to see what he's going to do once the regular season starts. Marco Belinelli went off for 25 points but he did the same thing last year and the rode the bench for most of the year.

Game 3 Boxscore: Los Angeles Lakers 85 Memphis Grizzlies 76

Notables:

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 9 fouls
Mike Conley. MEM: 11 points, 3-7 FG, 1-5 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: 9 points, 4-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turnovers
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 15 points, 6-13 FG, 3-5 3 FG, 2 rebounds, 6 fouls, 6 turnovers
Brian Butch, MEM: 2 points, 1-1 FG

Joe Crawford, LAL: 9 points, 4-5 FG, 1-1 3FG, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal
Davon Jefferson, LAL: DNP
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: 3 points, 1-3 FG, 1-1 3 FG

Comments: O.J Mayo had another solid game but he needs to cut down on his turnovers. I'm really disappointed in Mike Conley so far in the summer league. With a year under his belt, I thought he would come out and play really well in summer league, but that hasn't been the case so far. Darrell Arthur has averaged 8 fouls a game through three games. Definitely not a good thing for Arthur. I still like the scoring ability of Joe Crawford, the question is whether or not he does enough other things offensively and what he brings to the table defensively. Those will be the keys to him making the Lakers roster and receiving playing time.

Game 4 Boxscore: Detroit Pistons 75 Los Angeles Clippers 66

Arron Afflalo, DET: 25 points, 8-10 FG, 9-9 FT, 4 rebounds, 1 assist
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: 0 points, 0-0 FG, 1 rebound
Trent Plaisted, DET: 2 points, 1-2 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 steal
Walter Sharpe, DET: 4 points, 2-8 FG, 5 rebouns, 1 assist, 2 steals, 6 fouls, 4 turnovers
Rodney Stuckey, DET: 8 points, 3-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Deron Washington, DET: 5 points, 2-2 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Amir Johnson, DET: 9 points, 3-6 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 6 fouls

Eric Gordon, LAC: DNP
DeAndre Jordan, LAC: 15 points, 5-6 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 block
Mike Taylor, LAC: 13 points, 3-8 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 7 turnovers
Marcus Williams, LAC:
Nick Fazekas, LAC: 8 points, 3-6 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal
Al Thornton, LAC: 14 points, 5-18 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal

Comments: I have liked what I've seem from DeAndre Jordan so far. He's averaging 8.3 points and 6.7 rebounds a game and has hit 10 out of 13 shots. Not sure why Eric Gordon DNP, I'm assuming he has some kind of injury but couldn't find any info on that. Arron Afflalo had a big game but I'm still not sold on him.

Update: The Clippers have shut down rookie Eric Gordon for the rest of the summer league after the No. 7 pick pulled his hamstring Saturday. (SF Chronicle)
