(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: Minnesota Timberwolves 111 New York Knicks 91
Notables:

Kevin Love, MIN: DNP
Corey Brewer, MIN: 10 points, 4-9 FG, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block

Danilo Gallanari, NYK: DNP
Mardy Collins, NYK: 10 points, 4-9 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block

Comments: Pops Mensah-Bonsu was actually the leading scorer for Minnesota with 21 points on 8-12 shooting. Kevin Love got the day off, which doesn't surprise me because he showed enough already. Corey Brewer had by far his best game of the summer league.

Game 2 Boxscore: Phoenix Suns 88 Washington Wizards 69

Notables:

Andray Blatche, WAS: 8 points, 1-7 FG, 5 rebounds, 5 assist, 1 steals, 1 blocks

Jiri Hubalek, PHX: 0 points, 0-3 FG, 1 rebound

Comments: D.J. Strawberry and Alando Tucker continue to impress for Phoenix and I think both could see decent playing time this season. Alando Tucker finished the summer league averaging 21.6 points on 57.1% shooting, which is ridiculously good.

Game 3 Boxscore: Milwaukee Bucks 88 Clevelad Cavaliers 72

Notables:

Joe Alexander, MIL: 10 points, 4-9 FG, 1 rebound, 3 assist
Luc Mbah a Moute, MIL: 11 points, 3-3 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist
Ramon Sessions, MIL: DNP
Darius Washington, MIL: 12 points, 6-10 FG, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steals

Darnell Jackson, CLE: 4 points, 0-4 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 steal
J.J. Hickson, CLE: 24 points, 10-17 FG, 5 rebounds
Mike Green, CLE: DNP

Comments: J.J Hickson finished summer league play on a strong not and averaged 19.4 points and 7.8 rebounds a game, while shooting 53.4% from the floor. I did not expect him to play that well, so it was definitely a surprise to me.

Game 4 Boxscore: Portland Trailblazers 78 New Orleans Hornets 63

Notables:

Jerryd Bayless, POR: DNP
Nicolas Batum, POR: 7 points, 3-6 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists

Bobby Brown, NO: 13 points, 5-14 FG, 4 rebounds, 10 assists

Comments: Jerryd Bayless sat out this game but he finished with 29.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals a game, while shooting 48.5% from the floor and 42.8% from three. Bobby Brown had a strong summer as well and finished with averages of 15.2 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds, but he did shoot only 42.4% from the floor.

Game 5 Boxscore: Milwaukee Bucks 81 Minnesota Timberwolves 67

Notables:

Aaron Brooks, HOU: 20 points, 7-14 FG, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steal

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 9

Day 9 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is final, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: Charlotte Bobcats 103 New York Knicks 71
Notables:

Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 0 points, 0-1 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 block
D.J. Augustin, CHA: DNP
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 6 points, 2-4 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 steal

Wilson Chandler, NYK: 10 points, 5-13 FG, 9 rebounds, 1 steal
Danilo Gallanari, NYK: DNP
Mardy Collins, NYK: 9 points, 2-10 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals

Comments: Not much going on in this game at all. Both Gallanari and Augustin DNP and they are two biggest names in this game. Wilson Chandler didn't have a bad game but he did come back down to earth a little.

Game 2 Boxscore: Golden State Warriors 95 Toronto Raptors 90

Notables:

Anthony Randolph, GS: 26 points, 5-17 FG, 16-18 FT, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Brandan Wright, GS: DNP
Marco Belinelli, GS: 14 points, 4-14 FG, 8 assists, 1 rebound, 3 steals
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 2 points, 1-5 FG, 1 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 block
Richard Hendrix, GS: 8 points, 3-8 FG, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks

Jaycee Carroll, TOR: DNP

Comments: Anthony Randolph put up some big scoring numbers in this game but most of them came from the free throw line because he shot so poorly from the floor. Marco Belinelli showed off some passing skills with 8 assists. Richard Hendrix made his debut and played well and did a little bit of everything.

Game 3 Boxscore: Denver Nuggets 92 Los Angeles Lakers 79

Notables:

Joe Crawford, LAL: 17 points, 8-18 FG, 1-4 3FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist
Davon Jefferson, LAL: 12 points, 5-8 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: DNP
Brian Roberts, LAL: 0 points, 0-3 FG
Pat Calathes, LAL: 2 points, 1-2 FG

Chris Lofton, DEN: 3 points, 1-4 FG, 1-2 3FG
Curtis Sumpter, DEN: DNP
Sonny Weems, DEN: 7 points, 3-10 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal

Comments: Joe Crawford had a solid game scoring the ball but he also has a done a good job not turning the ball over throughout the summer league. Through 6 games he averaged 1.67 turnover a game, that definitely is a plus for him.

Game 4 Boxscore: Washington Wizards 80 Houston Rockets 75

Notables:

Andray Blatche, WAS: 23 points, 9-19 FG, 7 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 steals, 2 blocks
Gary Forbes, WAS: 2 points, 1-4 FG, 2 rebounds
JaVale McGee, WAS: 4 points, 1-4 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 steal
Nick Young, WAS: 14 points, 5-12 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 block

Aaron Brooks, HOU: 10 points, 8-16 FG, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal
Joey Dorsey, HOU: DNP
Donte Greene, HOU: 15 points, 5-19 FG, 3-9 3FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block
Joseph Jones, HOU: DNP
Russell Robinson, HOU: 0 points, 0-2 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals
Marty Leunen, HOU: 13 points, 5-8 FG, 3-6 3FG, 5 rebounds

Comments: Monster game by Andray Blatche and I'm starting to wonder if he is going to pick up his play this year for the Wizards. That would definitely be something they could use. Gary Forbes hasn't done much the whole summer league and most games he doesn't seem even be involved because he hasn't been taking more than 5 shots a game. Donte Greene has been taking a lot of shots but not making most of them, he still manages to put up points every game though.

Game 5 Boxscore: Milwaukee Bucks 81 Minnesota Timberwolves 67

Notables:

Joe Alexander, MIL: 8 points, 2-11 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 blocks
Luc Mbah a Moute, MIL: 13 points, 6-10 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 steal
Ramon Sessions, MIL: DNP
Darius Washington, MIL: 19 points, 6-10 FG, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals
Matt Freije, MIL: 16 points, 6-10 FG, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 blocks

Kevin Love, MIN: 10 points, 4-5 FG, 9 rebounds, 1 assist
Corey Brewer, MIN: 8 points, 4-13 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Drew Neitzel, MIN: 6 points, 3-9 FG, 0-3 3FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal

Comments: Darius Washington played well with Ramon Sessions sitting out. I just realized that with Sessions playing, it was probably hard for Washington to play his game since Sessions was running the point. Kevin Love put up 10 points and 9 rebounds in just 17 minutes, so he continues to impress. Corey Brewer continues to struggle, which has to be disappointing for Minnesota. Joe Alexander has had his ups and downs but he has been picking up quite a few blocks.

Game 6 Boxscore: Portland Trailblazers 74 Phoenix Suns 73

Notables:

Jerryd Bayless, POR: 36 points, 14-26 FG, 2-3 3FG, 6-6 FT, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals
Nicolas Batum, POR: 6 points, 2-8 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Petteri Koponen, POR: 5 points, 2-13 FG, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal

Robin Lopez, PHX: 8 points, 2-10 FG, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 block
D.J. Strawberry, PHX: 15 points, 3-11 FG, 9-13 FT, 2 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Alando Tucker, PHX: 18 points, 7-10 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Jiri Hubalek, PHX: DNP

Comments: What more can you say about Jerryd Bayless? He erupted for 36 points, including 17 in the 4th quarter to lead his team to victory. I can't wait to watch Bayless during the regular season to see what he can do against the best in the NBA. Alando Tucker has done good things for himself in the summer league and has been solid in every game. He could be earning himself so minutes for the Suns. D.J. Strawberry will certainly get a chance to be the backup point guard for Phoenix.

Game 7 Boxscore: New Orleans Hornets 79 Cleveland Cavaliers 78

Notables:

Julian Wright, NO: 11 points, 4-16 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assists, 2 blocks
Bobby Brown, NO: 15 points, 7-17 FG, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal

Darnell Jackson, CLE: 4 points, 2-4 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
J.J. Hickson, CLE: 17 points, 6-15 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 block
Mike Green, CLE: 7 points, 3-7 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist

Comments: Bobby Brown continued his strong play in the summer league and he should have a chance to make the Hornets. J.J. Hickson played solid once again for the Cavs and has been their one bright spot this summer.

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 8

Day 8 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is underway, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action so far:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: New York Knicks 85 Phoenix Suns 80

Notables:

Robin Lopez, PHX: 15 points, 7-12 FG, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
D.J. Strawberry, PHX: 21 points, 7-16 FG, 7-10 FT, 1 rebound, 1 assist
Alando Tucker, PHX: 19 points, 7-10 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist
Jiri Hubalek, PHX: 4 points, 2-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist

Wilson Chandler, NYK: 31 points, 11-19 FG, 1-1 3FG, 8-10 FT, 12 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Danilo Gallanari, NYK: DNP
Mardy Collins, NYK: 13 points, 4-8 FG, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal

Comments: I have to say the biggest surprise of the Las Vegas Summer League to me has been the play of Wilson Chandler. He has been outstanding in so far and is averaging better than 22 points and 9 rebounds a game. Robin Lopez, D.J. Strawberry, and Alando Tucker continue to play well for Phoenix, so there isn't much else to say about that since it has been the norm.

Game 2 Boxscore: Detroit Pistons 78 Charlotte Bobcats 67

Notables:

Arron Afflalo, DET: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal
Walter Sharpe, DET: 8 points, 2-4 FG, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
Deron Washington, DET: 14 points, 6-9 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals
Amir Johnson, DET: 8 points, 2-3 FG, 8 rebounds, 1 block
Trent Plaisted, DET: 3 points, 1-3 FG
Rodney Stuckey, DET: DNP
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: DNP

Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 0 points, 0-4 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists
D.J. Augustin, CHA: DNP
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 12 points, 4-5 FG, 2-3 3FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists

Comments: I haven't mentioned this yet but Alexis Ajinca has stunk in the summer league in every game so far. Seems like he really was just a workout wonder. Arron Afflalo has been solid in the summer league so far for Detroit and Walter Sharpe has played well the last couple games.

Game 3 Boxscore: Washington Wizards 72 Cleveland Cavaliers 69

Notables:

Darnell Jackson, CLE: 4 points, 2-2 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block
J.J. Hickson, CLE: 12 points, 5-11 FG, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks
Mike Green, CLE: 7 points, 1-7 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists

Andray Blatche, WAS: 22 points, 8-17 FG, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks
Gary Forbes, WAS: 5 points, 2-4 FG, 1-1 3FG, 4 assists
JaVale McGee, WAS: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Nick Young, WAS: 5 points, 1-9 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal

Comments: J.J. Hickson continues to play well for the Cavs. I had blasted the Cavs for drafting such a young player but maybe he is good enough right now to contribute. I keep waiting for Andray Blatche to play consistently well during the regular season. He usually only plays well in flashes but maybe this year he will show some consistency.

Game 4 Boxscore: Toronto Raptors 89 Los Angelese Lakers 71

Notables:

Joe Crawford, LAL: 7 points, 1-6 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist
Davon Jefferson, LAL: 4 points, 1-3 FG, 2 rebounds
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: DNP
Brian Roberts, LAL: 8 points, 3-7 FG, 2-3 3FG, 1 assist
Pat Calathes, LAL: 10 points, 2-10 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal

Jaycee Carroll, TOR: 2 points, 1-4 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 steal

Comments: Davon Jefferson finally played a game in the summer league but he didn't do much. Not much of note in this game at all so I guess I should take the time out to say how Joey Graham has been playing well for Toronto in the summer but he's been around a while, so I haven't been keeping track of what he's been doing here on the blog. He definitely deserves some mention though since he has been averaging 19.3 points and 6 rebounds a game.

Game 5 Boxscore: Sacramento Kings 94 Golden State Warriors 91

Notables:

Jason Thompson, SAC: 20 points, 7-11 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Spencer Hawes, SAC: 13 points, 3-13 FG, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, 7 turnovers
Sheldon Williams, SAC: 12 points, 5-7 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 block
Quincy Douby, SAC: 36 points, 14-21 FG, 3-6 3FG, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Sean Singletary, SAC: 1 points, 0-3 FG, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 5 turnovers
Patrick Ewing, JR, SAC: 2 points, 1-3 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block

Anthony Randolph, GS: 16 points, 6-15 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Brandan Wright, GS: 8 points, 2-11 FG, 11 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Marco Belinelli, GS: 6 points, 1-10 FG, 2 assists, 2 steals
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 11 points, 5-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 assist
Richard Hendrix, GS: DNP

Comments: Spencer Hawes did a little bit of everything in this game, including turning the ball over and shooting badly from the field. He still did a lot of other positive things though. Quincy Douby was obviously a beast in this game with 36 points. Jason Thompson came through with another strong game. I think the Kings could be a decent team this year and push for that last playoff spot. For Golden State, Anthony Randolph had a decent game but Marco Belinelli really struggled.

Game 6 Boxscore: Denver Nuggets 105 Houston Rockets 104

Notables:

Chris Lofton, DEN: 0 points, 0-0 FG
Curtis Sumpter, DEN: 9 points, 4-5 FG, 1 steal
Sonny Weems, DEN: 16 points, 5-15 FG, 4 rebounds

Aaron Brooks, HOU: 25 points, 8-16 FG, 2 rebounds, 10 assists
Joey Dorsey, HOU: 22 points, 10-13 FG, 13 rebounds
Donte Greene, HOU: 19 points, 7-15 FG, 2-8 3FG, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks
Joseph Jones, HOU: DNP
Russell Robinson, HOU: 5 points, 1-3 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block
Marty Leunen, HOU: 13 points, 4-8 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist

Comments: Monster game from Joey Dorsey, who probably didn't score 22 points all of last season. Donte Green played well again and Aaron Brooks had his best game of the summer. Marty Leunen continues to be efficient on the offensive end.

Trent Plaisted, DET: 5 points, 2-3 FG, 1 rebound
Rodney Stuckey, DET: DNP
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: DNP

Comments: Dallas played some of their other guys today so the regulars didn't get as many minutes. Walter Sharpe had his best game so far in the summer league. Amir Johnson continues to be a foul machine with 30 fouls in 4 games.

Game 2 Boxscore: New Orleans Hornets 80 Los Angeles Clipppers 76

Notables:

Julian Wright, NO: 9 points, 4-13 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block

Eric Gordon, LAC: DNP

Comments: Marcus Williams has averaged 23.5 points and 10 rebounds a game the past two games. Nick Fazekas had his strongest game of the summer league. Hilton Armstrong led the Hornets team with 25 points.

Game 3 Boxscore: Philadelphia 76ers 87 Toronto Raptors 85

Notables:

Jamont Gordon, PHI: 12 points, 2-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 6 turnovers
Marreese Speights, PHI: 15 points, 4-14 FG, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 assist, 8 fouls, 5 turnovers
Thaddeus Young, PHI: 21 points, 6-15 FG, 9-11 FT, 3 rebounds, 2 steals
Dawan Robinson, PHI: 2 points, 0-1 FG, 1 assist, 1 rebound
Jason Smith, PHI: 12 points, 4-7 FG, 12 rebounds

Jaycee Carroll, TOR: 4 points, 1-2 FG, 1-1 3FG, 1 rebound, 1 steal

Comments: This was by far Marreese Speights worse game of the summer league but it was still a decent performance. Just goes to show you how well he has played and he finishes the summer league averaging 18.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks a game while shooting 48.6% from the floor. Jamont Gordon had a decent summer league as well, finishing with 10.6 points, 4 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1 steal a game and44.7% shooting.

Game 4 Boxscore: Phoenix Suns 98 San Antonio Spurs 74

Notables:

James Gist, SA: 13 points, 5-6 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal
Malik Hairston, SA: 10 points, 5-9 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block
George Hill, SA: DNP
Ian Mahinmi, SA: DNP

Robin Lopez, PHX: 14 points, 6-12 FG, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks
D.J. Strawberry, PHX: 12 points, 3-10 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover
Alando Tucker, PHX: 24 points, 8-10 FG, 8-11 FT, 3 rebounds
Jiri Hubalek, PHX: 10 points, 4-6 FG, 2 rebounds

Comments: Alando Tucker has had two big games in a row for the Suns. He didn't play much last season, so it will be interesting to see what kind of run he gets this year. D.J. Strawberry could end up being the Suns back up point guard this year if he continues to play well. Robin Lopez has been solid in his 2 games so far.

Game 5 Boxscore: Minnesota Timberwolves 88 Portland Trailblazers 78

Notables:

Kevin Love, MIN: 26 points, 7-20 FG, 12-14 FT, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Corey Brewer, MIN: 1 points, 0-4 FG, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal
Drew Neitzel, MIN: 2 points, 0-2 FG, 1 rebound

Jerryd Bayless, POR: 29 points, 8-15 FG, 13-16 FT, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 7 fouls, 6 turnovers
Nicolas Batum, POR: 12 points, 5-7 FG, 1-2 3FG, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 5 turnovers
Petteri Koponen, POR: 14 points, 7-14 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 6 turnovers

Comments: Jerryd Bayless has now gone to the free throw line a ridiculous 55 times in 3 games. He is super quick getting to the hole and he's definitely benefiting from it. Kevin Love had another monster game to remain one of the more impressive rookies in the summer league. Disappointed in Corey Brewer as it seems he hasn't taken a step forward with his game this year so far.

Game 6 Boxscore: Milwaukee Bucks 79 Denver Nuggets 67

Notables:

Chris Lofton, DEN: 3 points, 1-2 FG, 1-1 3FG

Darius Washington, MIL: 8 points, 2-4 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist

Comments: Ramon Sessions continue to fill up the boxscore and almost had a triple double. Joe Alexander had a decent performace for the Bucks who seem to be a balanced summer league team.

James Gist, SA: 10 points, 5-11 FG, 10 rebounds, 2 assists
Malik Hairston, SA: 9 points, 4-6 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist
George Hill, SA: 4 points, 0-6 FG, 6 rebounds, 4 assists
Ian Mahinmi, SA: 14 points, 4-11 FG, 10 rebounds

Wilson Chandler, NYK: 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist
Danilo Gallanari, NYK: DNP, back injury

Comments: George Hill hasn't hit a shot from the floor two games in a row and is now 0 for his last 16, ouch. James Gist continues to play well for the Spurs though and French big man Ian Mahinmi has been solid in for the Spurs as well. Also, Guard Anthony Roberson signed a 2 year deal with the Knicks today, which could mean Stephon Marbury is on the way out.

Game 2 Boxscore: Dallas Mavericks 93 Sacramento Kings 71

Notables:

Jason Thompson, SAC: 11 points, 3-8 FG, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, 6 fouls, 5 turnovers
Spencer Hawes, SAC: 17 points, 6-17 FG, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Sheldon Williams, SAC: DNP
Quincy Douby, SAC: 9 points, 3-12 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Sean Singletary, SAC: 2 points, 1-6 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Patrick Ewing, JR, SAC: DNP

Shan Foster, DAL: 6 points, 3-8 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Gerald Green, DAL: 18 points, 5-12 FG, 7 rebounds
Jajuan Smith, DAL: 10 points, 4-7 FG, 2-5 3FG, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 block
Charles Rhodes, DAL: 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 9 fouls
Reggie Williams, DAL: 2 points, 1-2 FG, 1 rebound

Comments: Both Jajuan Smith and Charles Rhodes have been playing well for Dallas. Jajuan Smith has been shooting the three ball especially well and I'm curious to see if his long range shooting will get him a spot on the Mavs roster. Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes continue carry the scoring load for the Kings but they weren't very efficient in this game from the floor.

Game 3 Boxscore: Philadelphia 76ers 86 Washington Wizards 72

Notables:

Jamont Gordon, PHI: 10 points, 5-10 FG, 4 rebounds, 7 assists
Marreese Speights, PHI: 24 points, 9-17 FG, 13 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Thaddeus Young, PHI: 8 points, 3-13 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
Dawan Robinson, PHI: 6 points, 1-3 FG, 2 assists 1 steal
Jason Smith, PHI: 24 points, 9-14 FG, 11 rebounds

Andray Blatche, WAS: 18 points, 6-10 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Gary Forbes, WAS: 6 points, 2-9 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist
JaVale McGee, WAS: 9 points, 4-10 FG, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks
Nick Young, WAS: 10 points, 4-12 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal

Comments: Marreese Speights continues to impress me and he has been solid in every game he has played so far. The 76ers could really be a scary team in the next couple of years. Jamont Gordon played solid in this game and I think he will earn a spot on the 76ers roster.

Game 4 Boxscore: Los Angeles Lakers 95 Minnesota Timberwolves 93

Notables:

Kevin Love, MIN: 18 points, 9-18 FG, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 5 fouls, 6 turnovers
Corey Brewer, MIN: 19 points, 7-10 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 block
Drew Neitzel, MIN: 4 points, 2-3 FG

Joe Crawford, LAL: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 0 turnovers
Davon Jefferson, LAL: DNP
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Brian Roberts, LAL: 12 points, 3-6 FG, 2-3 3FG, 2 assists

Comments: Kevin Love had a strong performance in this game, although he did have some foul and turnover issues, definitely impressive scoring and rebounding. Joe Crawford put in another solid effort and Brian Roberts made his debut with the Lakers and had a solid game as well.

Game 5 Boxscore: Los Angeles Clippers 82 Memphis Grizzlies 74

Notables:

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 12 points, 4-13 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
Mike Conley. MEM: DNP
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: DNP
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 20 points, 8-22 FG, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals
Brian Butch, MEM: 2 points, 1-6 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 steals

DeAndre Jordan, LAC: 6 points, 3-3 FG, 5 rebounds, 5 blocks
Mike Taylor, LAC: 7 points, 3-8 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 10 turnovers
Marcus Williams, LAC: 23 points, 6-11 FG, 11-11 FT, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Nick Fazekas, LAC: 8 points, 3-4 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Al Thornton, LAC: 20 points, 6-10 FG, 8-9 FT, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Eric Gordon, LAC: DNP

Comments: There's only so much you can say at this point before it becomes repetitive. O.J. Mayo, DeAndre Jordan, and Al Thornton all continue to play well. The Clippers added Marcus Camby, which puts even less pressure on Jordan to produce right away but I think he will be very useful off the bench this season. I also think Memphis is going to lose a lot of games again this season despite O.J. Mayo's solid play.

Game 6 Boxscore: Houston Rockets 73 Cleveland Cavaliers 72

Notables:

Darnell Jackson, CLE: 7 points, 2-4 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
J.J. Hickson, CLE: 18 points, 7-15 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 block
Mike Green, CLE: 8 points, 3-7 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block

Aaron Brooks, HOU: 16 points, 5-14 FG, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal
Joey Dorsey, HOU: 8 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 6 fouls, 6 turnovers
Donte Greene, HOU: 17 points, 4-17 FG, 3-8 3FG, 6-6 FT, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
Joseph Jones, HOU: 0 points, 0-1 FG, 2 rebounds
Russell Robinson, HOU: 2 points, 1-7 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 assists
Marty Leunen, HOU: 17 points, 5-9 FG, 3-5 3FG, 5 rebounds

Comments: Joey Dorsey made his debut in this game and had a solid performance despite some turnover and foul issues. I'm not surprised Donte Greene couldn't follow up his 40 point performance with another good shooting night because he is a very streaky shooter. He still managed to score 17 points though. Marty Leunen got his 17 points much more efficiently and he has shot the ball well two games in a row. J.J. Hickson followed up his strong debut with another solid game.

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 5

Day 5 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is complete, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: Milwaukee Bucks 73 Detroit Pistons 59

Notables:

Arron Afflalo, DET: 18 points, 5-12 FG, 7-11 FT, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 turnovers
Walter Sharpe, DET: 8 points, 3-6 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Deron Washington, DET: 7 points, 3-6 FG, 4 rebounds
Amir Johnson, DET: 6 points, 3-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks, 9 fouls
Trent Plaisted, DET: 0 points, 0-1 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist
Rodney Stuckey, DET: DNP, Injured Toe
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: DNP

Joe Alexander, MIL: 11 points, 5-9 FG, 1-1 3FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
Luc Mbah a Moute, MIL: 7 points, 2-10 FG, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Ramon Sessions, MIL: 21 points, 6-11 FG, 9-12 FT, 6 rebounds, 4 assists
Darius Washington, MIL: 0 points, 0-6 FG, 4 assists, 2 rebounds
Matt Freije, MIL: 9 points, 3-5 FG, 2-2 3FG, 3 rebounds, 2 steals

Comments: Not much going on in this game but Joe Alexander performed better in his second game. Ramon Sessions had a big game and I expect him to be solid all season long for the Bucks. The Bucks could have a decent team this season if they can play some defense because they have a good core of players: Michael Redd, Mo Williams, Andrew Bogut, Richard Jefferson, Joe Alexander, Ramon Sessions, and Charlie Villanueva. Actually now that I look at those players, you can forget about them playing any good defense, looks like they will have to try and outscore people.

Game 2 Boxscore: Philadelphia 76ers 81 Los Angeles Lakers 73

Notables:

Jamont Gordon, PHI: 8 points, 2-7 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals
Marreese Speights, PHI: 16 points, 7-11 FG, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks
Thaddeus Young, PHI: 16 points, 6-14 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 7 turnovers
Dawan Robinson, PHI: 0 points, 0-3 FG, 3 rebounds

Joe Crawford, LAL: 16 points, 6-13 FG, 1-1 3FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal
Davon Jefferson, LAL: DNP
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: 2 points, 1-1 FG

Comments: Marreese Speights continues to play well and it looks like he might be able to give the 76ers some solid production off the bench offensively this season. Joe Crawford has his best performance of the summer league so far with 16 points.

Game 3 Boxscore: New Orleans Hornets 76 San Antonio 68

Notables:

James Gist, SA: 14 points, 5-7 FG, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 7 fouls, 5 turnovers
Malik Hairston, SA: 6 points, 3-6 FG, 1 rebounds, 1 assists
George Hill, SA: 3 points, 0-10 FG, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 fouls, 5 turnovers

Julian Wright, NO: 11 points, 5-9 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks
Bobby Brown, NO: 15 points, 7-12 FG, 8 assists

Comments: George Hill really sucked it up in this game. 0 for 10 from the floor, 6 fouls, 5 turnovers, not a very good performance from Hill. James Gist played well offensively but struggled with fouls and turnovers. Bobby Brown continues to play well for the Hornets and could be earning himself a spot on the team.

Game 4 Boxscore: Sacramento Kings 75 Portland Trailblazers 74

Notables:

Jason Thompson, SAC: 17 points, 4-8 FG, 9-11 FT, 9 rebounds, 6 fouls, 4 turnovers
Spencer Hawes, SAC: 10 points, 3-12 FG, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 5 turnovers
Sheldon Williams, SAC: 9 points, 3-9 FG, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks
Patrick Ewing, JR, SAC: 0 points, 0-1 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 assist
Quincy Douby, SAC: 24 points, 7-15 FG, 9-12 FT, 6 steals, 1 block, 1 assist, 5 turnovers
Sean Singletary, SAC: 9 points, 3-8 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 8 fouls
Bo McCalebb, SAC: 4 points, 1-1 FG, 1 assist, 1 steal

Jerryd Bayless, POR: 26 points, 6-15 FG, 1-2 3FG, 13-16 FT, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 5 turnovers
Nicolas Batum, POR: 6 points, 1-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 5 turnovers

Comments: Jerryd Bayless had another impressive performance and he was able to get to the basket almost anytime he wanted, which led to 16 free throw attempts. Bayless has now shot 39 free throws in two games. His ability to get to the basket has been impressive and I'm interested to see how it will translate to the regular season. Jason Thompson continues to play well for the Kings and I'm also interested to see him play in the regular season.

Game 5 Boxscore: Golden State Warriors 99 Charlotte Bobcats 93

Notables:

Anthony Randolph, GS: DNP
Brandan Wright, GS: 11 points, 4-8 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
Marco Belinelli, GS: 30 points, 9-15 FG, 3-4 3FG, 9-9 FT 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 7 points, 3-4 FG, 1 assist
Richard Hendrix, GS: DNP

D.J. Augustin, CHA: 30 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assists, 5 turnovers, 1 steal
Othello Hunter, CHA: DNP
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 7 points, 3-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal
Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 0 points, 0-2 FG, 1 turnover

Comments: D.J. Augustin had a monster scoring night with 30 points but he's a point guard and he had ZERO assists and FIVE turnovers and Larry Brown isn't going to like that from his point guard. Marco Belinelli went off for the second straight game, it will be interesting to see if he can contribute to the Warriors more than he did last year after lighting up the summer league.

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 4

Day 4 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is finished, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: New York Knicks 97 Cleveland Cavaliers 94

Notables:

Wilson Chandler, NYK: 26 points, 11-21 FG, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks
Danilo Gallanari, NYK: 14 points, 5-11 FG, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
Mardy Collins, NYK: 17 points, 4-6 FG, 8-9 FT, 6 rebounds, 5 assists

Darnell Jackson, CLE: 10 points, 4-9 FG, 8 rebounds, 4 turnovers
J.J. Hickson, CLE: 26 points, 11-15 FG, 9 rebounds
Mike Green, CLE: 4 points, 2-9 FG, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover

Comments: Impressive debut by J.J. Hickson, who scored 26 points and pulled down 9 boards. I wasn't sure if he was ready to help the Cavs right away but this certainly caught my attention. That being said, it doesn't look like much defense was played in this game from either team. Danilo Gallanari's debut was not as impressive as Hickson's but it was definitely solid, so Knicks fans should be encouraged by that. Wilson Chandler had a strong game for the Knicks as well, so maybe Isiah Thomas knew what he was doing when he drafted him.

Game 2 Boxscore: Denver Nuggets 90 Toronto Raptors 79

Notables:

Chris Lofton, DEN: 3 points, 1-3 FG, 1-2 3 FG, 1 rebound
Curtis Sumpter, DEN: 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
Sonny Weems, DEN: 2 points, 1-7 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 turnovers

Jaycee Carroll, TOR: 3 points, 1-5 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal

Comments: Tough second game for Sonny Weems, who played really well in his debut but not here. Curtis Sumpter has had two solid games in a row, not sure if he has a chance to make the Nuggets but he certainly is making a case for himself so far. Nobody really impresses me on Toronto's squad.

Game 3 Boxscore: Portland Trailblazers 78 Washington Wizards 73

Notables:

Andray Blatche, WAS: 17 points, 5-11 FG, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 8 fouls, 5 turnovers
Gary Forbes, WAS: 2 points, 1-4 FG, 1 assist
JaVale McGee, WAS: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal
Nick Young, WAS: 17 points, 5-11 FG, 2-4 3FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 9 fouls

Nicolas Batum, POR: 3 points, 1-6 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 turnovers
Jerryd Bayless, POR: 28 points, 5-12 FG, 18-23 FT, 4 rebounds, 3 turnovers

Comments: Big debut for Jerryd Bayless but there's no way he's getting to the line 23 times in a regular season game, so he's going to have to do a lot more to impress me. JaVale McGee had a solid debut and the Wizards got some decent play out of Andray Blatche and Nick Young despite the fact they combined for 17 fouls.

Game 4 Boxscore: Houston Rockets 100 Phoenix Suns 97

Notables:

Robin Lopez, PHX: 19 points, 5-13 FG, 9-11 FT, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 7 fouls
D.J. Strawberry, PHX: 22 points, 7-15 FG, 8-12 FT, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Alando Tucker, PHX: 22 points, 6-16 FG, 2-3 3FG, 8-10 FT, 6 rebounds, 2 assists
Jiri Hubalek, PHX: 10 points, 4-8 FG, 3 rebounds

Aaron Brooks, HOU: 13 points, 4 assists, 6 turnovers, 9 fouls
Joey Dorsey, HOU: DNP
Donte Greene, HOU: 40 points, 12-20 FG, 5-10 3FG, 11-12 FT 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals
Joseph Jones, HOU: 0 points, 0-0 FG, 1 rebound, 5 fouls
Russell Robinson, HOU: 7 points, 2-4 FG, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
Marty Leunen, HOU: 16 points, 6-13 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 8 fouls

Comments: Monster debut for Donte Greene, who had 40 points and probably the most impressive debut of any rookie in the summer league so far. I have been high on Greene even though he dropped in the draft, he is still young and he can definitely shoot the rock, so I'm not sure why so many teams were down on him. Not sure why Joey Dorsey didn't play and I'm definitely disappointed about that. Nice debut from Robin Lopez, showing off some offensive skills. D.J. Strawberry and Alando Tucker had strong efforts for the Suns as well.

Game 5 Boxscore: Dallas Mavericks 88 Minnesota Timberwolves 74

Shan Foster, DAL: 17 points, 8-13 FG, 3 rebounds
Gerald Green, DAL: DNP
Jajuan Smith, DAL: 19 points, 6-10 FG, 4-6 3FG, 1 rebound, 1 assists, 1 steal
Charles Rhodes, DAL: 9 points, 4-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Reggie Williams, DAL: 8 points, 2-7 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals

Kevin Love, MIN: 18 points, 7-13 FG, 13 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, 6 fouls, 5 turnovers
Corey Brewer, MIN: 11 points, 5-18 FG, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal
Drew Neitzel, MIN: 10 points, 4-5 FG, 2-2 3FG

Comments: Solid debut from Kevin Love, despite some foul and turnover troubles. Shan Foster played much better in his second game of the summer league. I still like what Charles Rhodes bring to the table, but we'll see if he makes an NBA roster.

Game 6 Boxscore: San Antonio Spurs 78 Memphis Grizzlies 76

Notables:

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 23 points, 10-15 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 assist
Mike Conley. MEM: DNP
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: 6 points, 2-9 FG, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 fouls
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 18 points, 5-17 FG, 2-4 3FG, 6 rebounds, 2 assists
Brian Butch, MEM: DNP

James Gist, SA: 6 points, 3-5 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal
Malik Hairston, SA: 0 points, 0-6 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
George Hill, SA: 17 points, 2-9 FG, 1-2 3FG, 12-16 FT, 8 rebounds, 1 assist

Comments: Darrell Arthur had a solid game offensively hitting 10 of his 15 shots. O.J. Mayo does a little bit of everything but still seems inconsistent when it comes to scoring the ball. James Gist filled up the boxscore nicely. He could be a key bench player for the Spurs this season.

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 3

Day 3 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is underway, so here are the boxscores along with a rundown of the action so far:

(Links for previous days at the bottom)

Game 1 Boxscore: New Orleans Hornets 77 Charlotte Bobcats 75

Notables:

D.J. Augustin, CHA: 15 points, 5-9 FG, 1-3 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 turnovers
Othello Hunter, CHA: 6 points, 3-4 FG, 1 rebound
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 2 points, 1-5 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 3 turnovers
Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 11 points, 3-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks

Julian Wright, NO: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks, 6 turnovers
Bobby Brown, NO: 20 points, 6-14 FG, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal

Comments: Julian Wright did a little bit of everything today to show off his array of skills. He still turned the ball over way too much but I'm wondering if maybe he is having to do too much ball handling and creating because of the lack of talent around him here at the summer league. A solid but not spectacular performance from D.J. Augustin. I still think Othello Hunter would be a great bench player for somebody because he seems to be so efficient scoring the basketbal I'm not sure if the rest of his game is well rounded enough for him to be more than a bench player though.

Game 2 Boxscore: Golden State Warriors 95 Dallas Mavericks 86

Notables:

Richard Hendrix, GS: DNP
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 4 points, 1-2 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
Anthony Randolph, GS: 11 points, 5-12 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
Brandan Wright, GS: 15 points, 7-10 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Marco Belinelli, GS: 25 points, 9-19 FG, 2-8 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal

Shan Foster, DAL: 2 points, 0-1 FG, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 turnovers
Gerald Green, DAL: 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 7 fouls, 3 turnovers
Derrick Low, DAL: 3 points, 1-2 FG, 1 assist, 1 rebound, 2 turnovers
Charles Rhodes, DAL: 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Reggie Williams, DAL: DNP

Comments: Anthony Randolph didn't have a monster performance like he did in his first game but still was solid. Brandon Wright is shooting 12 for 17 so far in the summer league, so I'm interested to see what he's going to do once the regular season starts. Marco Belinelli went off for 25 points but he did the same thing last year and the rode the bench for most of the year.

Game 3 Boxscore: Los Angeles Lakers 85 Memphis Grizzlies 76

Notables:

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 9 fouls
Mike Conley. MEM: 11 points, 3-7 FG, 1-5 3 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: 9 points, 4-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turnovers
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 15 points, 6-13 FG, 3-5 3 FG, 2 rebounds, 6 fouls, 6 turnovers
Brian Butch, MEM: 2 points, 1-1 FG

Joe Crawford, LAL: 9 points, 4-5 FG, 1-1 3FG, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal
Davon Jefferson, LAL: DNP
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: 3 points, 1-3 FG, 1-1 3 FG

Comments: O.J Mayo had another solid game but he needs to cut down on his turnovers. I'm really disappointed in Mike Conley so far in the summer league. With a year under his belt, I thought he would come out and play really well in summer league, but that hasn't been the case so far. Darrell Arthur has averaged 8 fouls a game through three games. Definitely not a good thing for Arthur. I still like the scoring ability of Joe Crawford, the question is whether or not he does enough other things offensively and what he brings to the table defensively. Those will be the keys to him making the Lakers roster and receiving playing time.

Game 4 Boxscore: Detroit Pistons 75 Los Angeles Clippers 66

Arron Afflalo, DET: 25 points, 8-10 FG, 9-9 FT, 4 rebounds, 1 assist
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: 0 points, 0-0 FG, 1 rebound
Trent Plaisted, DET: 2 points, 1-2 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 steal
Walter Sharpe, DET: 4 points, 2-8 FG, 5 rebouns, 1 assist, 2 steals, 6 fouls, 4 turnovers
Rodney Stuckey, DET: 8 points, 3-8 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Deron Washington, DET: 5 points, 2-2 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Amir Johnson, DET: 9 points, 3-6 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 6 fouls

Eric Gordon, LAC: DNP
DeAndre Jordan, LAC: 15 points, 5-6 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 block
Mike Taylor, LAC: 13 points, 3-8 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 7 turnovers
Marcus Williams, LAC:
Nick Fazekas, LAC: 8 points, 3-6 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 steal
Al Thornton, LAC: 14 points, 5-18 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal

Comments: I have liked what I've seem from DeAndre Jordan so far. He's averaging 8.3 points and 6.7 rebounds a game and has hit 10 out of 13 shots. Not sure why Eric Gordon DNP, I'm assuming he has some kind of injury but couldn't find any info on that. Arron Afflalo had a big game but I'm still not sold on him.

Update: The Clippers have shut down rookie Eric Gordon for the rest of the summer league after the No. 7 pick pulled his hamstring Saturday. (SF Chronicle)

Jaycee Carroll, TOR: 14 points, 6-9 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2 turnovers

Comments: Nobody in this game to really get too excited about. The Kings big men have trouble with fouls and turnovers though, but they were effective scoring the ball. Looks like Jaycee Carroll got picked up by the Raports team and had a decent first game for them.

Game 2 Boxscore: Charlotte Bobcats 81 LA Clippers 66

Notables:

D.J. Augustin, CHA: 14 points, 4-9 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 turnovers
Othello Hunter, CHA: 7 points, 3-5 FG
Kyle Weaver, CHA: 4 points, 1-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 steals
Alexis Ajinca, CHA: 3 points, 1-7 FG, 4 rebounds

Eric Gordon, LAC: 15 points, 4-10 FG, 1-5 3FG, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 0 turnovers
DeAndre Jordan, LAC: 4 points, 2-3 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist
Mike Taylor, LAC: 10 points, 4-11 FG, 2 assists, 1 steal, 5 turnovers
Marcus Williams, LAC: 2 points, 0-6 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 block
Nick Fazekas, LAC: 6 points, 2-5 FG, 5 rebounds, 3 turnovers
Al Thornton, LAC: 22 points, 7-12 FG, 7-8 FT, 7 rebounds, 1 block

Comments: Decent debut from D.J. Augustin but Charlotte doesn't have much else to get excited about. Othello Hunter played well though on the offensive end. Eric Gordon had a good all around performance for the Clippers and most importanly, he didn't turn the ball over. DeAndre Jordan continues to put up decent numbers and Al Thorton continues his domination of the Las Vegas Summer League.

Game 3 Boxscore: Denver Nuggets 99 Philadelphia 76ers 85

Notables:

Jamont Gordon, PHI: 12 points, 5-8 FG, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 turnovers
Marreese Speights, PHI: 14 points, 7-9 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks
Thaddeus Young, PHI: 22 points, 7-21 FG, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals
Dawan Robinson, PHI: 4 points, 1-3 FG, 2 steals

Chris Lofton, DEN: DNP
Curtis Sumpter, DEN: 7 points, 3-7 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 steal
Sonny Weems, DEN: 17 points, 8-15 FG, 3 rebounds

Comments: Another strong effort from Marresse Speights, if he is able to perform decent off the bench for the 76ers to go along with the starting production of Elton Brand, then the 76ers might be able to do a little more damage in the East than expected. Thaddeus Young did as expected and played well. Nice game from Jamont Gordon as well, who did a little bit of everything finishing with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sonny Weems played well for the Nuggets in his debut.

Game 4 Boxscore: Memphis Grizzlies 88 Milwaukee Bucks 79

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 10 points, 3-10 FG, 4 rebounds, 8 fouls, 1 block
Mike Conley. MEM: 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 turnovers
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: 6 points, 1-4 FG, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 turnovers
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 26 points, 9-19 FG, 4-6 3FG, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Brian Butch, MEM: DNP

Joe Alexander, MIL: 7 points, 2-13 FG, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Luc Mbah a Moute, MIL: 4 points, 2-7 FG, 7 rebounds, 1 assits, 1 steal, 1 block
Ramon Sessions, MIL: 12 points, 1-4 FG, 9 assists, 2 rebounds, 7 turnovers, 1 steal
Darius Washingston, MIL: 9 points, 3-7 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Matt Freije, MIL: 11 points, 4-6 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assists, 1 block

Comments: O.J. Mayo was outstanding in this game, showing his ability to score and also knock down the NBA three-pointer. Darrell Arthur continues to struggle with fouling. Decent performances from Mike Conley and Javaris Crittenton but nothing spectacular. Joe Alexander struggled big time in his debut with the Bucks.

Las Vegas NBA Summer League - Day 1

Day 1 of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League is today and I will be following this event from today through July 20th. Here is a preview of all the action and I will be updating the boxscores along with a rundown of the action at the Las Vegas NBA Summer League throughout the night:

(Games start today at 4 PM Eastern time)

Game 1 Boxscore: Golden State Warriors 96 Philadelphia 76ers 89

Preview: A lot of interesting young talent in this game. Keep an eye on Jamont Gordon, who slipped right out of the draft and is now fighting for a spot in the NBA with the 76ers. I'm interested in seeing how both Brandan Wright and Anthony Randolph play. Also, I forgot the 76ers had Marreese Speights and I think it's great that he can now learn from Elton Brand.

Notables:

Jamont Gordon, PHI: 11 points, 3-8 FG, 5 assists, 3 turnovers
Marreese Speights, PHI: 22 points, 7-19 FG, 8-12 FT, 13 rebounds, 5 turnovers
Thaddeus Young, PHI: 27 points, 10-20 FG, 6-10 FT, 6 rebounds, 5 turnovers
Dawan Robinson, PHI: 5 points, 1-3 FG, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal

Richard Hendrix, GS: DNP
DeMarcus Nelson, GS: 5 points, 2-3 FG, 2 assists
Anthony Randolph, GS: 30 points, 12-18 FG, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 5 turnovers
Brandan Wright, GS: 17 points, 5-7 FG, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 5 turnovers
Marco Belinelli, GS: 14 points, 5-14 FG, 2 assists, 2 rebounds

Comments: Monster game from Anthony Randolph against some pretty decent competition. He did a little bit of everything, while pouring in 30 points. Definitely an impressive debut. Brandon Wright also played well with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. The Warriors could really use one of these two guys down low this year. Marreese Speights had a big game as well with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Somewhat surprising he played THAT well and he could be someone to look out for because he definitely is talented. As expected, Thaddeus Young put up big numbers too. Decent but not spectacular debut for Jamont Gordon.

Game 2 Boxscore: Memphis Grizzlies 88 New Orleans Hornets 75

Preview: New Orleans roster doesn't have much to get excited about since they didn't have a first round pick this season and most of the guys on the roster aren't some of the better known players in the summer league. Memphis on the other hand is very interesting and I look forward to the debut of O.J. Mayo but also to see Darrell Arthur. I except Mike Conley to come out and play very well in this summer league but there is definitely some competition for him with Javaris Crittenton and O.J. Mayo as well to some extent.

Notables:

Julian Wright, NO: 12 points, 4-17 FG, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 11 turnovers

Darrell Arthur, MEM: 18 points, 9-12 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 9 fouls
Mike Conley. MEM: 14 points, 5-9 FG, 6 assists, 4 turnovers
Javaris Crittenton, MEM: 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 turnovers
O.J. Mayo, MEM: 15 points, 5-10 FG, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, 8 turnovers
Brian Butch, MEM: 4 points, 2-5 FG, 1 steal

Comments: Wow, Julian Wright might have had the worst game of any summer league player so far, racking up a whopping 11 turnovers, while shooting only 4 of 17 from the floor. Not a good look for Julian. Darrell Arthur had an effecient offensive game but he must have been in trouble on the defensive end, since he got whistled for 9 fouls. Mike Conley outplayed Javaris Crittenton at the point guard sport for the Grizzlies. O.J. Mayo's debut was not all that great, since he turned the ball over 8 times. This might surprise some but I know DraftExpress had mentioned him as one of the worst potential point guards of all the players coming out in the draft. Of course he's not really a PG, but that would explain the 8 turnovers. He did throw down this thunderous dunk though too.

Game 3 Boxscore: Detroit Pistons 84 LA Lakers 73

Preview: I'm sure Lakers fans are waiting to see what Davon Jefferson can bring to the table and so am I. I'm also very interested to see what Joe Crawford can do. Nobody on Detroit interests me too much. We already know what Stuckey can do and I don't expect anything spectacular out of the rest of their team.

Notables:

Joe Crawford, LAL: 9 points, 2-4 FG, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers
Davon Jefferson, LAL: DNP
Marcelus Kemp, LAL: 2 points, 0-2 FG, 1 rebound, 1 assist

Arron Afflalo, DET: 15 points, 6-14 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 steals,
Kentrell Gransberry, DET: 1 point, 0-1 FG
Trent Plaisted, DET: 10 points, 4-5 FG, 5 rebounds
Walter Sharpe, DET: 8 points, 2-9 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals
Rodney Stuckey, DET: 21 points, 6-15 FG, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal
Deron Washington, DET: 1 point, 0-1 FG, 2 rebounds
Amir Johnson, DET: 12 points, 5-5 FG, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, 9 fouls

Comments: Not as much action in this as the previously two games. Decent debut for Joe Crawford but nothing spectacular. Nothing too exciting to talk about on the Detroit side of things either. I've heard from several Pistons fans now that part of the reason Flip Saunders was fired was because he didn't give enough minutes to Amir Johnson. When I checked out the stats, Johnson has a high FG percentage but it also seems like he comitted a lot of fouls in the limited time he was playing, well he had 9 fouls in this game and that could be part of the reason why Flip didn't play him as much.

Game 4 Boxscore: LA Clipper 86 Dallas Mavericks 69

Notables: I think Gerald Green is going to have a big summer league but that doesn't mean it will translate over to the regular season. Dallas also has a couple of undrafted free agents that will be interesting to watch. On the Clippers side, I'm looking to see what Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan will do. I think Gordon will have a big summer league but we will see.

Shan Foster, DAL: 7 points, 2-5 FG, 2 rebounds, 2 assists
Gerald Green, DAL: 12 points, 4-11 FG, 1 rebound, 1 steal
Derrick Low, DAL: 2 points, 1-2 FG, 2 assists
Charles Rhodes, DAL: 10 points, 5-8 FG, 6 rebounds
Reggie Williams, DAL: DNP

Eric Gordon, LAC: 23 points, 5-18 FG, 3-6 3FG, 10-11 FT, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 turnovers
DeAndre Jordan, LAC: 6 points, 3-4 FG, 4 rebounds, 1 block
Mike Taylor, LAC: 9 points, 4-9 FG, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 turnovers
Marcus Williams, LAC: 8 points, 1-3 FG, 6-6 FT 3 rebounds, 1 assist
Nick Fazekas, LAC: 8 points, 4-7 FG, 5 rebounds, 1 steal
Al Thornton, LAC: 20 points, 6-10 FG, 7-8 FT, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block

Comments: No surprise to see Al Thornton dominate in a summer league game. Eric Gordon had a decent debut, showing an ability to get to the line and hit his 3 pointers but he also shot only 5 of 18 and comitted 6 turnovers. The Clippers would probably take 6 points and 4 rebounds a night from DeAndre Jordan as a rookie. Not much going on for Dallas but Charles Rhodes did have a solid debut effort in his attempt to make an NBA roster.
