NFL Weekly

Lots of links today for NFL Weekly:

We start off with the Seahawks signing of Julius Jones, which has left Shaun Alexander confused about his future with the team. Well let me help him out....because he is clearly washed up as a feature back and everyone seems to realize this but him. He'll probably end up as a backup somewhere, or in the best case scenerio he will be splitting carries with someone else. I really can't see any team making him their feature back, assuming Seattle is going to cut him. I hope he's ready for a paycut too.

Meanwhile, here's a good article about how the Cleveland Browns are improved from their offseason moves. I am already on the record saying that I believe the Browns have made good moves this offseason and should be able to reach the playoffs next season.

However, there are two keys to their success. Regardless of how the defense plays, they need Derek Anderson and Jamal Lewis to have similiar seasons as last year, which would keep their potent offense in tact. Neither of these scenerios is guaranteed to happen, I think it would be wise for them to pick up another running back maybe in the 4th round of the draft. They already have Brady Quinn as a backup QB, so I don't expect them to do much there.

The Jets have also made alot of moves this offseason, spending an extreme amount of money but they still have a dicey QB situation.

In other free agent news, the Rams and Bucs are bringing back two of their former players. The Rams signed the human concussion Trent Green and the Bucs signed Warrick Dunn. I don't expect Green to have much impact but Dunn should add another semi-weapon to the Bucs offense. He's a good change of pace and can catch some screen passes from one of the Bucs' five QB's.

The Packers are considering a couple options to backup Aaron Rodgers at QB, including bringing back Mark Brunell. They are also considering Jacksonville's Quinn Gray.

Here's a good link on the Top 5 available Free Agents that could help out some teams.

The NFL Draft is coming up soon, so I thought I would include this Mock Draft and the Top 5 Prospects at each position.

Finally, the Dallas Cowboys are interested in acquiring Pacman Jones if he is ever reinstated, which at this point is up in limbo.
