NBA Playoffs Rundown

Detroit 105 Philadelphia 88: Nice bounce back effort here from the Pistons. You knew they would come out and play tough tonight after their disappointing loss in Game 1. This team does tend to turn it on and off and even their coach doesn't know why they don't bring it all the time.

As for Game 2, the Pistons shot a blistering 54.9% from the floor but they also played great defense, which you can tell by looking at this shot chart and see that the 76ers had not one layup the whole game and hardly any points in the paint at all. You aren't going to beat the 76ers by shooting jump shots all game, especially when you aren't a good jump shooting team. Of course the 76ers shot 35 free throws so I'm sure Detroit probably fouled every who came into the lane and probably fouled them hard.

The Pistons are good enough to take the next three games of this series but I still think the 76ers will steal another one when they go home.

Boston 96 Atlanta 77: Another easy game for the Celtics as they toyed with Atlanta again. Not much to talk about here but Paul Pierce got hurt early in the game with what they are calling a lower back strain, however, he came back in and looked fine. Mike Bibby got booed every time he touched the ball for calling the Boston fans "fairweather". Not much else to talk about here except that Boston didn't shoot particularly well from the floor and still won by 19 because of their great defense.

LA Lakers 122 Denver 105: I predicted that someone would go off for 40 or more in this series and Kobe did it last night dropping 49 on the Nuggets. He also had 10 assists and the team had 33 assists overall, so I guess people aren't joking when they say this is a good passing team.

Denver isn't playing bad at all on offense, they just continue to suck on defense.

Maybe they will play better once they go back home but I don't really see them having any chance to win this series. At this point, the best they can hope to do is win a game or two at home and then try to steal one in LA.
