The Seattle Seahawks released former league MVP Shaun Alexander today.
This comes as no surprise as he was clearly in decline the past two seasons and writing was on the wall when Seattle signed Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett in the offseason.
Right now Shaun Alexander has career totals 9,429 rushing yards and 112 total TD's of which 100 were rushing TD's. He currently ranks 13th all time in touchdowns and 25th all time in rushing yards. He is definitely in the discussion of possibly making the NFL Hall of Fame.

I would imagine that Alexander would try to play this season but I don't think anyone would make him a feature back. It is also possible that Alexander decides to call it quits, rather then trying to hang on as a backup.
