Boston forward Kevin Garnett was injured late in the second quarter of the Celtics' 90-85 loss to Utah on Thursday night and went hopping on one foot toward the locker room.
The Celtics said he strained his right knee and would not return.
Garnett released a statement after the game, saying he would have the knee re-examined on Friday.
"We should have more information at that time. Obviously, I would much rather be playing instead of giving this statement," Garnett said.
